Slumberland is that friend who you don't see every week, and often forget to call, but when you see them, they buy you a shot of Fernet at the bar & tell you a funny story you forgot about, reminding you why you liked that person in the first place. Failed Flowers is that shot of Fernet, and that story rolled up into a night out at the bar. Punkish jangle pop with clever songwriting and a penchant for recalling every band I've ever heard on Slumberland, yet none that I can finger specifically. brantly
Another absolute winner for Slumberland! Punkish Soft Boys-meets-Henry's Dress splendor! Like a dirty Velocity Girl kicking out lo-fi-ish Kinks-y jangle-noise. Sometimes it reminds me of a garage / budget-rock version of early 80's REM with hints of the Primitives. oh, and there's tambourines. Tambourines are lovely. Really are. Cover is funny too. took me a minute, but, yeah, worth a chuckle. brantly
A new album of perfect low-key gems from Kim Weldin of Tape Waves' unassuming bedroom pop side project Shiny Times. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 15, 2019
Sweetly melancholy bedroom pop is rarely as actually vulnerable and personal as it is in this Australian artist's hands. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 21, 2018
Blissfully blown out jangle pop from Spain’s bustling indie scene. This is more Shop Assistants than Hinds, with lyrics in Spanish. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 7, 2016
